Overview

An all new ultrahigh-performance version of the X6 luxury crossover, the 2010 BMW X6 M seats four and offers a well-sculpted exterior and an all new technologically-equipped interior. Power and performance

Like its sibling the X5 M, the X6 M is motivated by the first ever M Power 4.4-liter 32-valve V-8 Turbo engine good for 555 hp and 500 lb-ft of torque and comes fully equipped with M Dynamic Performance Control for impressive handling. It is equipped with a 6-speed M Sports automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The M Sports transmission offers three modes: Drive, Sport, and M Manual Shift. It sprints from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds and tows up to 6,600 pounds when properly equipped -- a highly unusual pair of strengths, BMW claims. The mileage details stand at 13 mpg city/18 mpg highway and 14 mpg combined.

Body and styling

The 2010 BMW X6 M elegantly rolls on 20-inch wheels with xenon adaptive headlights with auto-leveling and corona headlight rings, shadowline exterior trim, retractable, high-intensity headlight washers, automatic-dimming, power-folding side-view mirror and M quad tailpipes. The interior is highly well equipped with the latest of everything - extended Merino Leather upholstery, brushed aluminum shadow interior trim, M door sills and driver's footrest, split-folding rear seats, storage package includes 2 lashing rails and 4 sliding lashing eyes, and straps on the left and right in the luggage compartment Fully finished cargo area and cargo cover. Further, 2-way power glass moonroof with "one-touch" operation, sliding interior sunshade, and wind deflector, power windows, auto front climate control, Premium high-fidelity 16-speaker sound system with Digital Sound Processing (DSP), 2 subwoofers and digital 9-channel amplifier with 600 watts and Anti-theft AM/FM stereo CD radio with Radio Data System (RDS), MP3 capabilities, and 3-channel FM diversity antenna system along with HD Radio with "multicast" FM station reception and satellite radio preparation. Ventilated "multicontour" seats, heated steering wheel and rear seats are among the majors options. Further, a six-DVD changer, an iPod/USB adapter, a 16-speaker premium sound system, a rearview camera, a head-up display, a highly comfortable four-zone climate control, an easy power liftgate, keyless entry/ignition, extended leather trim, a rear-seat entertainment system, satellite radio and towing preparation can also be installed depending upon the requirements.
