2008 BMW 7 Series 360 View
Overview
Thirty years ago, the BMW created a larger car that was to become a byword for luxury, elegance and innovation: the BMW 7 Series. Since then, the 7 Series has been synonymous with a line of full-size luxury vehicles. The redesigned 2008 BMW 7 Series is an advanced version of the same. It reflects the technical mastery, cutting-edge technology and other unbeatable features.
Engine and performance
The standard 2008 BMW 750i is equipped with the 4.8-liter V8 engine. The 750i is likely to be launched as a long-wheelbase model first, with an upgrade version in M-powered or V12 trim later.
The 7 Series 745i Sedan and the 745Li Sedan are standard with a 324-horsepower, 4.4-liter DOHC (4-cam) 32-valve V8 engine, aluminum block and cylinder heads, electronically controlled engine cooling, Digital Motor Electronics engine-management system with adaptive knock control six-speed automatic transmission and a liquid-cooled alternator. Valvetronic technology allows engine ‘breathing’ to be controlled entirely by the valves, determining how far each of the engine’s 16 intake valves is lifted, how much air or fuel mixture the engine breathes, and how much power it produces. This technology makes the traditional throttle method seem outmoded. It also ensures drivers the smoothest ride on the road.
A new development for the 2008 BMW 7 Series would be the launch of Hydrogen 7. In hydrogen mode, the reworked 7 Series will be the very first luxury vehicle that will offer powertrains fuelled by petrol, diesel, hybrid fuels and yes, hydrogen.
Elegant exteriors & better interiors
Like its predecessors, the 2008 BMW 7 Series is a unified stylistic vision. The character line running from the bulging front wheel to the rear of the car is more pronounced, and the hood gets additional detail for stronger definition. The headlamps are more curvaceous, the front bumper and lower air dam look similar to the 3 Series, and the bustle butt remains. The family resemblance is also evident in the headlights and side mirror design. In a nutshell, the design is more cohesive.

The all-new 7 Series is a family-sized car, with seating for five. The front seats are bucket seats and come with heating, height adjustment; lumbar, thigh support, and shoulder tilt adjustment and a retractable armrest. If more than one person wants to enjoy the ultimate driving experience, you can set the seat to suit them - there is space in the seat memory for nine driver's seat positions (and nine for the passenger seat, too). Two 12-volt power outlets, cupholders front and back, onboard computer, cruise control, automatic air conditioning, RDS audio system, phone and navigation are some of the other features.
Safety
The new BMW 7 Series is equipped with traction control, electronic stability control, anti-theft warning system, and anti-lock braking system to keep the car out of trouble. The pre-tensioned seatbelts and airbags with advanced features will offer greater protection. Lower anchorage for children’s seats has been provided in the 7 series.
