The BMW 6 Series is a skillful blend of power, performance and awesome luxury. It was reintroduced in coupe and convertible forms in the U.S. market in 2004. For 2008 the 6 Series got minimal changes. With amazing performance, skillful handling, beautifully carved exteriors and lavish interiors the 650i is a 2-door, 4-passenger luxury sports car is available in two forms, the 650i Coupe and 650i Convertible. The engine remains unchanged from its predecessor with a 4.8-liter 360 hp V8 engine. The 6 series comes with an iPod interface and optional Pearl leather upholstery.
Engine and performance
Both the new 6 Series extracts its superior power and performance from a 4.8-liter V-8 engine generating 360 horsepower and 360 pounds-feet of torque. A manual or automatic six-speed transmission is offered. The eight-cylinder offers superior smoothness and refinement in driving. For its refined engine technology the new BMW 650i speed up to 60 miles per hour in just 5.6 seconds. BMW's Active Roll Stabilization, Dynamic Drive Control which adjusts suspension, throttle and ABS are standard in the 6 series models.
Skillfully Carved Bodyline
The 6 Series now make an even more powerful and outstanding appearance on the road with its brilliantly sculpted stylish and extravagant body. A large, tilting panorama glass roof is standard on coupes. The 6 Series displays BMW’s classic proportion with a long, low and wide bodyline. Convertibles have a vertical glass rear window which serves as a wind blocker when the top is down. 18-inch run-flat tires, Park Distance Control, Active Roll Stabilization and bi-xenon dual round headlights are standard in the 6 Series while Active Steering is optional. The new metallic paint colors Deep Sea Blue and Space Gray and light-alloy rims are further options for individual preferences.
Lavish Cockpit
The style and elegance of the four seated 6 Series continues smoothly within the cockpit. The new BMW 6 Series is improved with new Chrome Pearl Grey Design with other new colors for the interior trim and upholstery. From 2008 active head restraints and dynamic cruise control are standard in the 6 Series. All 6 Series models are designed with luxurious leather upholstery with a choice of wood trim, dual-zone automatic climate control with air cleaner; a high-power eight-speaker stereo, an MP3-compatible CD player, Bluetooth interface. Heated front seats, Sirius Satellite Radio and a Logic7 audio system are optional in the 6 Series. All models come standard with engine start/stop button.
Dynamic Driving Pleasure
Like most BMWs, the 6 Series is a true driver's car. The suspensions are sufficiently tight and offer superior control. The seats are comfortable and supportive. Visibility in the coupe is acceptable, but the mirrors could be larger. The mixture of sufficient power and modest weight delivers quick acceleration at any speed. The Active Roll Stabilization system keeps the luxury coupe tight around corners. BMW's iDrive system is technically innovative, yet annoying for some drivers.
Safety Features
The 6 series is equipped with plenty of latest safety measures.
