BMW Builds a Better Cruise Control?

What is Active Cruise Control. Active Cruise Control allows the driver to set a desired speed that is automatically maintained in free flowing traffic. What makes this feature very special is that as the BMW approaches slower traffic, a radar sensor in the vehicle alerts the vehicle. Unlike normal cruise control systems which would then require driver intervention, Active Cruise Control will automatically slow the BMW to match the speed of the slower vehicle in front and remain at a preset distance from the vehicle in front. Once the lane ahead clears, Active Cruise will automatically return the car to the preset speed. This feature is available on all 2008 BMW's.
